What is Barrel + Ink?
Barrel + Ink is where Wine Meets Design. Located in San Francisco, CA, we provide a unique canvas for incredible winemakers and designers to connect and explore their creative, artistic processes. Each collaboration shares a window into our maker’s lives, passions, and inspirations.
What else should I know about Barrel + Ink?
Barrel + Ink was founded on the belief that the intersection of creative energies is a spark for human experiences that engage, connect, transform, and empower. We also believe unique, soulful wines and exceptional design should be approachable, shared, and celebrated. We hope that our wines might ignite something within you.
Where do Barrel + Ink wines come from?
Barrel + Ink works with winemakers, designers, and artists from around the world. If you are a maker and would like to collaborate with Barrel + Ink, send us a note. We’d love to hear your story.
Where do I buy Barrel + Ink wines?
Barrel + Ink wines are available for purchase through our website. We announce our latest releases via email to our mailing list. The number of bottles for sale for each release is limited by the very process of their creation.
Can I find out what wines and which designers will be featured in coming months?
Part of what makes Barrel + Ink unique is the curation of a new story with each bottle. We try our best to keep this part of our process a surprise until we're close to making the release available for purchase.
I’m a maker. I’d like to work with Barrel + Ink. How do I do that?
We’re flattered. And we’d love to hear from you. Send us a note to share your story.
Why do I have to order in increments of two? Can I order a single bottle?
To be honest, shipping wine is expensive. It’s heavy. Therefore, we ship bottles only in pairs. We also believe strongly in the idea of wine as a record of time, meant to be experienced more than once. One of the most exciting parts of each release is how the bottles evolve over time. While all of our releases are generally ready to pop and pour, we also offer our best guess of when you might want to revisit the wine.
What shipping methods do you use?
We use FedEx Ground and FedEx Express 2-Day to ship our wines. Please be aware that an adult signature (21+) is required for delivery. Carriers will not leave packages unattended, regardless of having a signature on file. We recommend shipping to your office or to a location where someone can sign for you if you are unavailable. If you are shipping your wine as a gift, we recommend alerting the recipient so they can expect delivery and plan accordingly.
I live in the Bay Area. Can I come pick up my wine?
Unfortunately, we do not have a location for you to pick up your wine, even if you live in San Francisco. But we’re working on it!
How can I track my order?
Once you place your order, you will receive an order status and tracking number via email. If you do not receive an email within 48 hours of placing an order, contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
Do you ship internationally?
Barrel + Ink is only able to ship to addresses within the United States and to states that permit the shipment of wine directly to consumers. Laws governing the direct shipping of wine is are rapidly evolving. We will expand our service area to additional regions as state laws permits.
What happens if one or both of my bottles are broken when they arrive?
We hope we’ve selected the best packaging and shipping method for our wines, but there are always occasions when accidents happen. The most frequent cause of damaged wine is due to multiple delivery attempts, but if your shipment is damaged upon arrival, please give us a call at (415) 527-3880. We assume no liability for wine damaged due to poor weather during transport or delayed delivery. Please check weather conditions prior to ordering and ensure someone over the age of 21 will be available to receive the wine upon delivery.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept online payments using any major credit card.
Is my payment secure?
We hand off credit card processing to Braintree. They power online transactions for thousands of businesses and SaaS platforms and comply with PCI standards for the storage and handling of credit card information.
