NUOVA RACCOLTO

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Coombsville, Napa Valley

production: 9 barrels made

$75per bottle

Aaron describes this wine as, “Petit Jésus en calecon de velours,” meaning, “Little Jesus in velvet underpants.” We couldn’t agree more. This dense, concentrated Cab is classic Napa and yet is surprisingly soft, silky, and approachable. Designer Don Clark, of Invisible Creature, captures the beauty of balance and complexity in his intricately structured label design. Scroll down to see even more details.

About the Wine
“The wine opens with scents of fig and dark chocolate. It starts slowly and evolves into black cherry, plum, toffee, and sweet tobacco. In the mouth, it tastes of black stone fruits—soft, round, and concentrated.”
Aaron Pott, Winemaker

About the Design
“When I was coming up with the concepts, I obviously thought about grapes, but then eventually my mind went to crows. I played with the crow as a centerpiece and vines wrapped around him. I wanted it to be geometric and balanced and centered.”
